Using this calculator
Build a transparent plasma-cutting batch estimate from your verified cut speed and shop costs.
How to use it
Enter total batch cut length, cut speed, pierce count and dwell time. Add setup and handling in five-minute increments, finished quantity, material, extras, machine and labor rates.
Understanding the results
Review cutting and working time, machine and labor cost, overhead, selling price and price per piece. Select markup or margin and apply tax only as appropriate for your job.
What is the difference between markup and margin?
Markup adds a percentage of cost. Margin expresses profit as a percentage of selling price. A 25% markup and a 25% margin therefore produce different prices.
Scope and limitations
Use measured or manufacturer-verified cutting data. Rates are your inputs; this tool does not supply market prices. Machine rate excludes separately entered labor, and tax is applied to the full pre-tax price.
